Our Story ...

We were two mums from school who met in Morrisons cafe over 4 years ago to discuss a potential school project.  We weren't even friends at this point, just two school mums meeting.  Anyway, we got on really well and started to jokingly discuss a potential business.  The meeting came to an end and I was dropping Helen back at school, when we drove past a little cabin that had been empty for years... Helen laughed and said to Sam, 'You see that, that's going to be our shop.'  We both laughed and could only wish and dream of the possibility.

Well, dreams do come true because we pushed forward with it.  We worked hours for it and despite many obstacles we were not letting it go.  Box Unique was our business baby and eventually we got our shop.  We filled it with beautiful wedding items and it was our pride and joy.  We kept going, extremely determined, even though in the middle of a global pandemic we were going strong...THEN...the unexpected happened...the owner of the shop decided to sell it.

To say we were heartbroken was an understatement...we grafted for our shop, we loved our shop so much and then it was just gone.

Gutted and deflated we questioned our next path.

We decided that even though we no longer had our shop, we still wanted to continue with our business.  Not wanting to let anything step in our way.  

We put in weeks and weeks, days and days and hours and hours of work designing our own website and relaunched our business as an online business with a new name.  We were still very determined and very proud of all we had achieved.

Unboxed Unique was different than having a shop, we struggled to find time to work together due to work and family commitments and we started to work independently (although still very much best friends and still a joint business).  After a while it became apparent that there was little point in continuing as a joint business venture when we were not really finding any time to commit jointly.

At this point, the business was little more than just a hobby and we came to the decision to close the business.  We had very different family and work situations at that time and although it was very upsetting having to let our dream go, it was the only thing to do.

So after a few months rest, and having a family situation that means I need to work from home, I (Sam) decided I was going to carry on the business as a new solo venture.  I had never stopped believing in our dedication to bringing unique products made with absolute love and perfection.

I designed a brand new website, with a new business name and a new range of products, (as well as a couple of the old favourites). 
I have now been the sole owner of Unboxed Classique since earlier this year (2024) and I am still more determined than ever to carry on introducing new, unique and beautiful accessories for all your wonderful weddings as well as gradually integrating a collection of gifts for other occasions too.

It's not been an easy journey, but it's one that allows me to be at home where I am needed the most and enables me to carry on making beautiful products with absolute love and perfection.  Crafting unique items for special occasions is my passion. It fills me with pride to see my products play an important role in someone's wedding day or special event and I hope to carry on for many years to come.
